Pet Insurance

Although you do everything you can to keep your pet healthy there are times when ill health strikes or accidents happen. For some people their pets may go through a long life with minimal problems whilst other pets have constant health issues.

No matter how much you care about your pet you can not predict when illness or problems are going to arise. Ill health and accidents can be expensive just as in human health. The big difference between human and animal health is that for human health we have Medicare subsidising our heath care though our taxes. No such thing exists for pets so you bear the direct cost for all of your pet's health.

We recommend that all pets be covered by Pet Health Insurance. Although pet health insurance policies generally do not cover for the health care basics such as food, parasite control and vaccinations where they do help is when your pet has ill health or has an accident. A good pet insurance policy will make it easy for you when deciding on your pet's treatments as cost becomes a more secondary issue. This is peace of mind when you need it.

As with all Insurance each company has different policies both in level and type of cover. There may be exclusions based on age or breed or previous illness. We recommend that you read and compare a number of polices and make sure that they are suitable for you and your pet.
