Dr Alan Wade has been in practice since 1988 and Dr Neville Robertson since 1985. Our team of vets provide a broad range of skills and interests and with a wealth of experience we are equipped  to undertake an extensive range of complicated surgical and medical cases. Their knowledgeable and comprehensive team approach to veterinary medicine and surgery caters for all aspects of your pet’s health needs. To make sure they are up to date, our staff are actively involved in continuous veterinary education.

As Alan and Neville own City Beach Veterinarians you have a team totally dedicated to you and your pet’s well-being and direct access to the people involved in your pet’s health care.

Our Vets

Dr Nev with Maggie the Golden RetrieverNeville – Veterinarian

Neville graduated from Sydney University in 1985 and has been in small animal practice ever since. Originally working in Sydney, Neville moved to Perth to undertake a Veterinary Anaesthetic Internship at Murdoch University. After the internship, Neville worked in a variety of practices in Perth, the United Kingdom and Brisbane. He holds a Master’s degree in Veterinary Studies and is actively involved in ongoing veterinary education.  Neville has a lovely golden retriever, Maggie. She arrived mid-October 2016.

Alan completed his Veterinary degree at Murdoch University in 1988. Since then, he has worked in Perth and the United Kingdom in many busy small animal practices. He has a wealth of experience in surgery and small animal medicine.
Alan is also actively involved in continuing education. Alan has completed a short course on Small Animal Ultrasonography and City Beach Vets now has an ultrasound machine that Alan uses regularly. Alan has a cat called Tom and a beautiful Border Terrier called Charli.

He is a very talented and experienced vet who joined us in 2011. Clients and pets love Meg as she brings her happy personality to work every day. She has an exceptionally thorough approach to her cases which complements our company values. Meg has developed a strong passion for small animal medicine and surgery, and in 2018 she completed a Masters of Veterinary Studies (Small Animal Practice). In 2021 Meg successfully passed her examinations with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists to gain membership in Small Animal Medicine.

She has been in practice since 1995 and joined us at the start of 2022 and has previously worked for us at various times and we used to work with Sarah for years before we took over City Beach Vet. Clients love Sarah’s passion for her work and brings a wealth of knowledge in general practice (Medicine and surgery), emergency medicine and oncology.


Dr Chelsea with NoodleDr Chelsea Melvin – Veterinarian

She joined us in 2020 having worked for a number of years elsewhere. She was originally one of our vet students. She brings a wealthy of experience and is extremely thorough, talented and practical.


Dr Dale McPhee – Veterinarian

Dale has recently joined us and she brings 16 years of extensive small animal practice experience.


Dr Janae Kretzmer  – Veterinarian

Janae has recently joined us and has 4 years experience working in very busy small animal practices.


Our Veterinary Nurses

Jess Vet Nurse with GnochiJess -Veterinarian Nurse

Jess graduated in 2020 and has been working at City Beach Vet since.

As our head nurse she helps coordinate and ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible for our patients, clients, and staff.

From a young age she always had a love for animals and she feels blessed to have the opportunity to build a career around her passion. She enjoys all aspects of nursing whether its surgical nursing, nurse consults or in reception to greet our clients.

Outside of work Jess loves to spend time with her friends and family. And owns two little cat furbabies Gnocchi the Devon Rex and Noodle the Burmese.

 


Madison – Veterinarian Nurse

Madison joined the City Beach Vets team in May 2021 after graduating as a Veterinary Nurse in 2019. She has a strong passion for providing compassionate care to all animals and enjoys building trusting relationships with clients and their pets. Outside of work, Madison loves spending time with her dog, Maisy, and relaxing with a good book.


Eri – Veterinarian Nurse

Originally from Japan, Eri’s love for animals led to a degree in Animal Science, sparking a lifelong passion for animal care.
During a visit to Australia, Eri volunteered at an animal shelter, where a deep appreciation for the country’s culture, people, and wildlife began to take root.
This experience inspired Eri to return to Perth, where she studied vet nursing at TAFE and later worked as a vet nurse in Japan.
Missing Australia’s vibrant environment and community, Eri came back to Perth and has been working here as a dedicated vet nurse ever since.

Tahlia –  Veterinary Nurse

Tahlia joined the City Beach Vet team in 2023 as a student nurse and graduated in 2024.

She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, with particular interests in surgical assistance, anaesthetic monitoring, and of course puppy cuddles.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her spending time with family, friends, and her German Shepherd, Alphie, or off camping along the beautiful west coast of Australia.”


Aimee – Veterinary Nurse

Aimee graduated as a veterinary nurse in 2018 and joined the CBV team the following year. She enjoys being part of a close-knit team and loves the variety her role offers, from assisting in surgery to chatting with clients at reception. She values the balance of hands on patient care and connecting with clients to make each visit a positive experience.

Outside of work, Aimee is studying to become a primary school teacher. She loves spending time with friends and family, travelling whenever she can and relaxing at home with her cats Toto, George and Bailey, who keep her on her toes.”

 

 


Coco – Trainee Veterinarian Nurse

Coco is currently studying her Vet Nurse Certificate at AVT. She was with us doing her placement and soon became a permanent part of the City Beach team.

Coco has always wanted to be a vet nurse since she could talk, she has a deep love & care for all animals and couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

 


Kate – Veterinary Student

Kate is currently studying Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University and is set to graduate at the end of 2026. She has developed a strong passion for the diverse and rewarding nature of the veterinary profession and enjoys providing care for animals of all sizes.

Kate really values building strong relationships with clients and their pets, and she’s loved being part of the CBV team since completing her third-year placement here.

When she’s not at uni, you’ll usually find Kate spending time with friends and family, playing netball, or spoiling her dog Jessie
