Dr Alan Wade has been in practice since 1988 and Dr Neville Robertson since 1985 whilst Dr Meg Green has been in practice for 10 years. Our newest vet, Dr Sonia Benwath has been in practice for 5 years. Our vets bring a wealth of experience to City Beach Vets having undertaken an extensive range of complicated surgical and medical cases. Their knowledgeable and comprehensive team approach to veterinary medicine and surgery caters for all aspects of your pet’s health needs. To make sure they are up to date, our staff are actively involved in continuous veterinary education.
As Alan and Neville own City Beach Veterinarians you have a team totally dedicated to you and your pet’s well-being and direct access to the people involved in your pet’s health care.
Dr Meg Green is a very talented vet who joined us in 2011. Clients and pets love Meg as she brings her happy personality to work every day. She has an exceptionally thorough approach to her cases which complements our company values.
Dr Sonia Benwath joined us in 2020 and she brings experience, a love for surgery and medical cases and a very positive happy personality. She is dedicated to providing the best care for your pet.
We have a team of dedicated and trained nurses who love people and are passionate about animals. They are available to help you to look after your pet. They run the weight clinics and help us keep your pets happy and healthy during their stay with us, be it for a consult, bath or when they are in hospital.
Neville – Veterinarian
Neville graduated from Sydney University in 1985 and has been in small animal practice ever since. Originally working in Sydney, Neville moved to Perth to undertake a Veterinary Anaesthetic Internship at Murdoch University. After the internship, Neville worked in a variety of practices in Perth, the United Kingdom and Brisbane. He holds a Masters degree in Veterinary Studies and is actively involved in ongoing veterinary education. Neville has 2 cats, Lucy (black and white), and Angus (ginger). Neville has a lovely golden retriever Maggie. She arrived mid October 2016. The picture is of Maggie at 8.5 weeks of age!
Alan – Veterinarian
Alan completed his Veterinary degree at Murdoch University in 1988. Since then he has worked in Perth and the United Kingdom in many busy small animal practices. He has a wealth of experience in surgery and small animal medicine.
Alan is also actively involved in continuing education. In 2015, Alan completed a short course on Small Animal Ultrasonography and City Beach Vets now has an ultrasound machine that Alan uses regularly.
Alan has a cat called Tom and a beautiful Border Terrier called Charli. The picture shows her when she was 12 weeks old in 2017.
Meg – Veterinarian
After graduating from Murdoch University in 2010, Meg worked in mixed practice in country Western Australia for one year before joining the team at City Beach Vets. Meg has developed a strong passion for small animal medicine and surgery, and in 2018 she completed a Masters of Veterinary Studies (Small Animal Practice).
Meg’s pets include a cheeky Jack Russell Terrier named Emma, a crazy cat named LC (“Little Creature”), and a very happy Golden Retriever call Isbjorn (Issy for short) and a fast (occasionally) thoroughbred horse named Barney.
Sonia – Veterinarian
Sonia graduated from Murdoch University. She worked at a practice in the South West for a few years before moving to the UK to work. Sonia returned from the UK in 2020 to join the City Beach Vet team. Sonia has a special interest in Surgery. Sonia has a rescue chihuahua called Ziggy and a naughty cat called Zara.
Chelsea – Veterinarian
Chelsea graduated from Murdoch University. You will meet Chelsea – she is working 1 day a week generally. Chelsea grew up on farm in the Wheatbelt of WA. She has a pet Kelpie call Max – Kelpies are her favourite! Chelsea enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine. In her spare time Chelsea’s hobbies are usually involve following sports, in particular the Sydney Swans.
Susan – Veterinarian
Susan qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa in 2011 and has been in small animal practice since, first in her home country of South Africa and here in sunny Perth from 2014. She gained further qualifications in canine rehabilitation in 2017 and has also lived and worked in New Zealand where she worked in an animal rehabilitation practice as a qualified canine rehabilitation therapist, as well as in different small animal practices doing veterinary work. She moved back to Perth after missing the sunshine and beautiful beaches. Her special interests are in improving the lives of geriatric pets, post-operative care and treating musculoskeletal, neurological and sporting dog injuries. When not at work Susan is out and about with her husband, son and 2 dogs exploring the great outdoors.
Anita – Qualified Veterinary Nurse
Anita joined our team in October 2014. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2012 through Polytechnic West TAFE.
Away from work Anita is kept busy by her very cheeky Labrador, Dexter. She says one of Dexter’s favourite things to do is go on his regular play dates with Yasmin’s (one of our old vet nurses) dog Ruby – they absolutely love each other!
Aimee- Qualified Veterinary Nurse
Aimee joined us in early 2019. She is a fully qualified trained veterinary nurse. She has two lovely Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Graduated as a Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse from Polytechnic West TAFE in 2018.
Alex – Qualified Veterinary Nurse
Ashley – Veterinary Student Murdoch University
Ashley started working with us in 2016 works on the weekends doing reception duties along with helping with the nursing.
She is studying Veterinary Science after having studied Animal Studies at Murdoch. She aspires to work in small animal veterinary care.
Ashley grew up with animals and has a Labradoodle called Coco, as well as two kittens, Smitten and Smelly, who she adopted after being brought into our veterinary hospital as orphans.
